It's amazing how many people trash on Jackie, yet praise the Dead Spring tour. Y'all have forgotten what real music is. Jackie has what it takes, the Dead need to keep concentrating on their other projects cause they don't have any real chemistry left as a band.
I havent heard this show yet, but from what I saw at Penn's Peak, Ratdog is on fire and a very tight band....much more than I can say about the leftovers band.

I never cared for the Grateful Dead music until I knew Jackie Greene was going to be part of Phil & Friends. (Buffalo & Columbus shows). I like the fact that Jackie Greene can make cds filled with apealing music to listen to. A good cd with 10 songs isn't a bad thing. Oh yeah the record charts are filled with that these days. After all Phil Lesh brought him aboard along with Larry Campbell and they had a year run. Why not look at the reviews of all those shows (those Dead fans were nuts for them). In fact take a listen to what that group was doing with the Dead songs. Making the music appealing for the masses, rockin it up a bit. Adding a Beatles or Stones cover in there from time to time. Also having a real legit lead singer. What a horrible thing!
I never compared Jackie to Dylan and don't really see it other than an occasional acoustic/harp song. The real Dylan clone is Jakob Dylan. Styling just like his dad and trying to sound like him. Having a bad attitude towards his fans also. Is it true that Charlie Sexton is up next to play guitar with Bobby or Phil? After all he did tour with Dylan.
I didn't go to this Highland Bowl show. To busy listen to music at another festival at Highland Park. The recordings are nice quality though. Thank You.
Oh by the way isn't it Bobby who is bringing Jackie on tour with him? Isn't it Bobby who says, Jackie join us on stage? The powers to be has spoken and they are Bobby and Phil!

I'm not much of one to hate on Jackie, but I've got to admit, sometimes I get the feeling I'm listening to Clay Aiken sing the Dead's repertoire. Either way, great recording, I'm really hoping to check Bob out this coming Sunday!

Can't this dude just go back to playing Jason Mraz covers? What a fish out of water! We don't need another Dylan clone. Please just go away, and take Larry Campbell with you. I heard Hanson had a few openings.

Damn this is a sweet AUD if I ever heard one! It does seem a bit compressed, but that may very well be just the way the house mix was. It's not really a distraction at all. Rather, it may very well add to the quality of the recording.
I always forget how great Ratdog can be. I am glad we have this recording to remind me :)

Even So! Once again, expert taping, Mr. LaPorte.
The 30 sec. gap for Samson notwithstanding, this sounds friggin' yummy.
Thanks for sharing!
